The GISC Department in Dubai Municipality participated in the 10th Plenary Meeting of the Regional Committee of United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for the Arab States, hosted by the UAE in the capital, Abu Dhabi, between 14 and 16 February. Where a group of the most prominent international experts working in the field of Geospatial data to exchange experiences and shed lights on the best Arab and international experiences in the field of using and developing geospatial business. Halima Al-Naqbi from GISCD presented the metadata, which is concerned with providing information of geospatial data layers in terms of the various elements that help the user to determine the optimal use of these data. The center's experience of metadata was also presented along with the important policies and standards that have been applied to implement metadata. Al-Naqbi concluded with a review of the most important programs used in the GISCD to determine the metadata of the geospatial layers, which contributed to the center achievement the recognition of the International Standards Organization (ISO) in implementing the ISO 19115 metadata standard. ​
