HeliConference Dubai 2021

​The GIS Center at Dubai Municipality has participated in the activities of the HeliConference 2021, which was held at the Emirates Flight Taining Academy, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President & Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. During the conference, the latest innovations in helicopters and drones were highlighted. The conference included a number of the most prominent global experts in the world of smart aircraft technology, to exchange experiences, knowledge and debate on a variety of topics including modern technologies, drones, public safety and homeland security. 

On the second day of the conference, Maitha Al-Nuaimi, Head of Geographic Information Network Section, Dubai Municipality and the first Emirati woman to obtain a 3D camera drone licence in Dubai, has participated in a discussion session to talk about the importance of drones in providing data to strategic partners and how it allows customers to obtain the required data for aerial survey, which can now be requested through the Dubai Here system, that has been developed by Dubai Municipality and includes 2D and 3D maps that contain all assets, landmarks, infrastructure, facilities, buildings and units. At the end of the session, Al Nuaimi presented the Dubai Horizons' project, which is concerned with planning corridors, airports locations and landing sites for drones in line with Dubai's future plans in the field of air mobility, it is one of the initiatives of the Dubai Municipality and will be executed in cooperation with the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority
