HE Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, honored the team of the Unified Map P
roject, which is considered one of the most strategic projects of the emirate. The project was implemented under the supervision of the Geographical Information Systems Center and in coordination with different internal and external planning authorities. Eng. Maryam Al Muhairi headed the project team in the presence of representatives from the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, Survey Department, and members of the technical team at the GIS Center.
The Unified Map project for Dubai's lands focuses on issuing a single map at the Emirate's level, which displays comprehensive planning and Geospatial information and data for the land, throughout merging the maps issued by Dubai Municipality, the Department of Lands and Properties and other licensing entities in the Emirate. It is noteworthy that the center’s great efforts resulted in eliminating customer visits to government entities to complete the service and replacing them with smart platforms and communication channels, standardizing, numbering lands according to the approved numbering mechanism in Dubai Municipality among all participating parties, and establishing a central geographic database at the level of the Emirate of Dubai.
