In pursuit of the wise leadership vision and the strategic directions of Dubai in transforming Dubai into a smart city. Dubai Municipality inaugurated the "Makani" smart system to label units geospatially. The first plate was fixed in coordination with the Dubai Smart Festival City, in the presence of Eng. Maryam Al Muhairi, Director of the GIS Center. This project is the first of its kind in the world, and it is an extension of the current Makani system of entrances, where the new addressing system has been developed to include all types of units within the buildings, whether they are residential, commercial stores, offices and others. The geospatial data for the buildings have been prepared according to 3D standards consistent with "GeoDubai" initiatives and "digital twin" requirements in the emirate, then it was included in the geographical database, and a code was set for each unit. Al Muhairi stated, "We always focus on providing innovative solutions that revolve around achieving the happiness of residents and visitors, and are related to the details of their daily lives and how to facilitate them. Since the announcement of the initiative to transform Dubai into a smart city, the world has been watching the emirate's experience and taking it as a benchmark." The inauguration included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Dubai Municipality and Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate in the field of geospatial infrastructure (GeoDubai)
