The GIS Center in Dubai Municiplaity participated in the RTA Innovation in BIM Summit in Dubai within the activities of the International Big Five Exhibition (The Big 5 Heavy) which was held in Dubai from 25-28 November 2019.
Engineer Ali Ismail gave a detailed explanation about the strategic plan of the Committee for Building Permit Procedures Development in the Emirate of Dubai . He also discussed the road map application project for building information modeling in Dubai, which aims to improve building standards, and its integration with GIS. It also aims to develop specialized tools to improve the process of issuing building permits. Engineer Ali also participated in the dialogue session devoted to discuss Readiness for BIM market implementation for the lifecycle of assets.
A number of companies and institutions such as the British Institute for Standards (BSI) and international companies Trimble Solutions and Autodesk participated, in addition to Consolidated Contractors Company to highlight future directions for building information modeling (BIM) and its application in the United Arab Emirates.
