GITEX 2022: Innovative projects and digital solutions in the field of Metaverse

Under Dubai Municipality stand, The GIS Center Department participated in GITEX Technology Week 2022 with a variety of important projects and innovative technologies related to AI and metaverse, which contribute to providing better experience for customers using effective digital solutions. This participation aims to exchange experiences with the participating entities in this global event, in addition to overview the most prominent future projects and applications related to innovation and metaverse. The GIS Center participated in Gitex with several projects, including Dubai Horizons project, which is concerned with planning corridors, airports, locations and landing sites for drones. Also, HD Maps for Autonomous Vehicles project and DubaiHere system, which includes 2D and 3D maps that contain all assets, landmarks, infrastructure, facilities, buildings, units, service networks, economic activity information, environmental, health and population information for Dubai. 
During the exhibition, Eng. Maitha Al Nuaimi Acting Director of the GISC Department welcomed at the Dubai Municipality stand HH Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, and a number of CEOs, including HE Mishaal Abdul Karim Julfar- Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, HE Abdullah Ali Al Falasi - Director General of Dubai Government Human Resources Department, in addition to Mr. Abdullah Al Hantobi - Deputy Director of Fujairah Municipality, HE AbdulRahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi - Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, and HE Jean-Philippe Linteau - Consul General of Canada in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. ​
