Within the framework of the GIS Center's efforts to spread geospatial awareness to the largest number of individuals, entities, departments and educational institutions, the Center organized, in cooperation with Sharjah Libraries, an introductory workshop titled "What You Do Not Know about GIS", presented by the trainer Fatima Al-Amiri, GIS Service Officer. The workshop included different topics, starting with an introducing of GIS science, its importance, its benefits, its most important applications and the most prominent projects implemented in the GIS center of Dubai Municipality.​
