The GISCD, in cooperation with the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), held an online seminar titled "Digital Twin for Future Cities". The seminar aimed to discuss the latest standards for establishing digital twin for cities and share the experience of some countries in this field. Eng. Noora bin Haider from the GISCD gave a presentation of Dubai Digital Twin, which includes a digital replica of Dubai in the form of 2D & 3D maps including all assets and landmarks with the aim of providing all the information needed to plan and manage the city and provide smart services effectively. Eng. Noora has also discussed the resources followed in the center to create the digital twin, such as engineering plans, building information modeling (BIM), using indoor and outdoor laser scanning, and drones. These methods were used to develop standards for charts, models, and data; in addition to developing tools to automate the conversion into a 3D geospatial database.
