GIS Center (GISC) has organized a day on 14 November 2018 to mark the occasion of the World Day of Geographic Information Systems (GIS Day). Members of the Geospatial community of Dubai, which consisted of government departments, strategic partners, parastatal companies and free zone authorities, have attended.
Engineer Maryam Al Muhairi, Director of Geographical Information Systems Center, in her speech highlighted the importance of the availability of digital maps, geospatial data and geospatial systems to achieve the objectives of Dubai's 2021 plan in building a smart and sustainable city. She also stressed on the importance of vitalizing cooperation among the members of the Geospatial Community avoiding duplications in projects and reducing cost.
