Visit to the headquarters of Ordnance Service in the United Kingdom​

Ordnance Survey in UK is the Royal Commission charged by the British Government to carry out surveying, administrative boundaries, mapping and all geographic information systems for more than two centuries. Eng. Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality and a team from the GIS Center, Dubai Municipality, have paid a work visit to Ordnance Survey in UK from March 11-16, 2019 to find out the nature of its work in geospatial innovation and best practices in all fields of geospatial Information.

GISC is currently collaborating with Ordnance Survey International Division to implement the GeoMaturity Assessment Project for the Emirate of Dubai. This project aims to raise the level of competence, capacity and geospatial awareness in the Emirate to international levels and to adopt innovative methods of collection, accuracy, analysis and methodology of geospatial data processing, dissemination and security policies.​
