The GIS center in Dubai Municipality organized an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) conference, in coordination with Ordinance Survey. The conference included workshops for 3 days from 21-23 September 2020, in which global experts in various geospatial standards' fields have participated, as well as a number of strategic partners of the geospatial community in UAE from and outside Dubai's Emirate. In addition, to engineers and experts in the center and departments related to the Municipality.
These workshops covered various aspects of geospatial data standards and raised awareness of their importance in different geospatial science and business areas, to benefit the participants with wide range of geospatial information related topics.
Maitha Ali Al Nuaimi, GIS Network Section Manager, made an opening statement on the first day of the conference, which focused on the pioneering role that the Center is playing towards increasing the efficiency and the quality of data through the adoption of global geospatial standards. Eng. Mohammed Al-Mustafa, GIS Expert, has participated at the conclusion of all the conference workshops and answered all observations and inquiries.
