HE Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality, has overseen the new GIS Centre, given that it is the approved geographical data provider from geospatial maps for the government, semi-governmental and private sectors. Al-Hajri checked the Centre's facilities which implement digital initiatives by adopting the latest technologies in collecting, developing and monitoring the geospatial data's quality, in addition to storing and analyzing it to make it accessible to decision-makers and supporting the strategic objectives of Dubai's government. Furthermore, during Al Hajiri's tour in the Centre, he was briefed on the geospatial experiments area, which includes a number of modern projects and technologies, including Dubai Digital Twin's project, services and projects based on hologram technology and Dubai assets' project. H.E. also witnessed the geospatial analysis and remote sensing. Moreover, He inspected the geospatial events areas in the Centre, namely the geospatial innovation area, the global geospatial communication area, and the geospatial control room. At the end of his visit, Al Hajri praised the Centre's fruitful efforts. He also added that the expansion of the Centre comes within the framework of Dubai Municipality's vision to make Dubai a happy and sustainable city.
