GeoAI and Deep Learning with ArcGIS Workshop

11 November 2022 | Dubai, UAE

As part of the GISCD’s efforts to keep up with the latest research, studies and geospatial sciences in the field of artificial intelligence, the GISCD hosted Mr. Mansour Raad, Global Chief Technologist from Esri, to give an introductory workshop titled GeoAI & Deep Learning with ArcGIS. The workshop was attended by various entities, individuals, private companies and strategic partners to learn about artificial intelligence and the methods of using it in different fields and industries. Mr. Mansour has talked about the difference between geospatial AI, machine learning and deep learning were Machine learning (ML) is a type of artificial intelligence (AI) that allows software applications to become more accurate at predicting outcomes without being explicitly programmed to do so. While Deep Learning is a subfield of machine learning concerned with algorithms inspired by the structure and function of the brain called artificial neural networks. Mr. Mansour has also explained the methods of data classification, as AI software contributes to classifying huge data, which contributes to facilitating the completion of work and saves time and effort. At the end of the workshop, all questions and inquiries related to AI were answered.
