Within the framework of the GIS Center's efforts in cooperation with educational institutions to spread geospatial awareness and benefit from geospatial services, the center annually organizes a number of virtual introductory workshops on Makani application for educational institutions in the emirate that included different ages. The workshops, which witnessed remarkable interaction by students, aimed to introduce the smart geographic addressing system "Makani", in which it included an explanation of its importance, usage and most prominent features​
