The second phase of the field trials for the HD Maps project for self-driving cars has been launched. This phase includes field exploration, installing and reading of ground control points using global positioning devices, as well as capturing cloud points and panoramic photography of main and internal roads and parking lots by using the geospatial mapping car. The results of this phase help in preparing the basemap models for the project that supports digital transformation initiatives in the Emirate of Dubai.
