The GIS Center has participated in GITEX Technology Exhibition 2020 in its 40th edition with the participation of 1200 companies from more than 60 countries all over the world, in which the latest technology products were exhibited. GIS Center presented during the exhibition its most important projects and services under the umbrella of Dubai Municipality. Participation in this global exhibition is considered extremely important as it enables the center to share its knowledge and experiences with the participants in this global event, and to announce the most important projects and applications related to innovation in the region and the world. This is to support the concept of innovation through the provision of supporting infrastructure, such as the use of electronic and smart systems, and the use of modern innovation tools in everyday activities. The center participated in several projects during the exhibition such as the Dubai Horizons' project, which is concerned with planning for corridors, airports locations and landing sites for drones in alignment with Dubai's Future Plans and Dubai Here system, which includes 2D and 3D maps that contain all assets, landmarks, infrastructure, facilities, buildings, units, service networks, economic activity information, environmental, health and population information for Dubai.​
