His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, inaugurated the Building Information Modeling (BIM) project launched by the Dubai Building Licensing Committee during Cityscape Exhibition. Eng. Dawood Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality and Chairman of the Committee, said that in order to achieve our vision of having global leadership, and in line with Dubai Plan 2021, the Committee of developing procedures for building permits created a comprehensive strategy to raise the level of customer satisfaction and provide outstanding services. This helps in creating a competitive investment environment in the Emirate of Dubai.

 In addition to that, it launched a global pioneering initiative by creating the building automation project using building information modeling and geographic information systems (GIS), which is considered the latest global mechanism in designing buildings. It helps in increasing efficiency, raising the level of quality in the issuance of the building permit, providing comprehensive and detailed three-dimensional maps of Dubai, to support the provision of smart city services.
